Budget Analyst

Purpose:

Corporate Financial Budgeting, Forecasting, Outlook, and Analysis

General Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

1. Business Plan and Strategic Plan, Budgeting and Forecasting, Outlook

a. Develop and maintain of the business plan, budget and forecasts, and quarterly outlooks. Provide various sensitivities cases and scenario(s) analysis.

2. Financial Analysis and Reporting

a. Prepare financial reports of profit/loss, cash flows, balance sheet, and its analysis, and variance analysis

b. Prepare and submit reports for management reporting and statutory reporting purposes

c. Adapt to needs of the corporate business combination, due diligence, divestment/farm out, acquisition/farm in, and prepare relevant models needed.

3. Process Improvement

a. Identify opportunities for process improvement

b. Develop and maintain standardized templates, tools, and processes

4. Stakeholder Collaboration:

a. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including finance team members, department heads, and management

5. Compliance and Audit

a. Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, internal financial policies, procedures, and controls

6. Team Support and Development

a. Collaborate with the team leader and provide support in team initiatives or projects

 

Qualifications & Experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required

• Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis in the oil & gas industry

 

Required Competencies:

Technical Competencies

• Financial Management: Understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Knowledge of the oil & gas industry’s specific financial challenges and opportunities

• Knowledge of IFRS reporting

• Data Analysis: Ability to digest and interpret a wide range or complex financial data

• Proficiency in Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of the regulatory environment and compliance issues related to PSC and the oil & gas industry

 

Non-Technical Competencies

• Analytical and interpretational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

• Team player and self-motivated

• Good verbal and written communication skills
